Ingredients
For the Burger Patties:
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
1/2 tsp smoked paprika
1/4 tsp onion powder
For the Smoky Glaze:
1/4 cup BBQ sauce
2 tbsp honey
1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
1/2 tsp smoked paprika
For Assembly:
4 brioche buns
8 slices of bacon, cooked until crispy
4 slices smoked cheddar or gouda cheese
Lettuce
Sliced tomatoes
Pickles (optional)
Mayonnaise or your favorite burger sauce
Instructions
Step 1: Make the Patties
In a bowl, mix ground beef with salt, pepper, smoked paprika, and onion powder. Divide into four even portions and shape into patties slightly larger than the buns.
Press a small indent into the center of each patty to help them cook evenly.
Step 2: Cook the Bacon
Heat a skillet over medium heat and cook the bacon until crispy. Drain on paper towels and set aside.
Step 3: Prepare the Smoky Glaze
In a small saucepan, combine BBQ sauce, honey, Worcestershire sauce, and smoked paprika. Heat over low until the glaze is warm and slightly thickened.
Step 4: Cook the Patties
Heat a grill pan or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for 3-4 minutes per side or until they reach your desired doneness.
During the last minute of cooking, brush the patties generously with the smoky glaze and top with a slice of cheese. Cover the pan to melt the cheese.
Step 5: Toast the Buns
Toast the brioche buns lightly in a skillet or on the grill until golden brown.
Step 6: Assemble the Burgers
Spread mayonnaise or burger sauce on the bottom bun. Add lettuce, a tomato slice, and pickles if using.
Place the glazed cheeseburger patty on top. Add two slices of crispy bacon and drizzle extra glaze over the bacon.
Top with the other half of the bun.
Tips for the Best Burger
Use freshly ground beef with a higher fat content (80/20) for juicier patties.
Try adding caramelized onions or jalapeรฑos for extra flavor.
Pair with sweet potato fries or onion rings for the ultimate meal!
