Ingredients
(Makes 8-10 breadsticks)
1/2 lb thinly sliced beef steak (ribeye works best)
1/2 green bell pepper (thinly sliced)
1/2 onion (thinly sliced)
1/2 cup mushrooms (sliced, optional)
1 tbsp olive oil
1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
Salt and black pepper (to taste)
1 cup shredded provolone cheese
For the Dough
1 package refrigerated pizza dough (or homemade dough, if preferred)
For the Topping
2 tbsp butter (melted)
1 clove garlic (minced)
1 tbsp fresh parsley (chopped)
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Instructions
Prepare the Philly Cheesesteak Filling
Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the sliced steak and cook until browned (about 2-3 minutes).
Add the bell pepper, onion, and mushrooms (if using) to the skillet. Cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
Stir in the Worcestershire sauce, and season with salt and black pepper to taste. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
Prepare the Dough
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Roll out the pizza dough into a rectangle (about 12×8 inches).
Cut the dough into 8-10 strips, each about 1 inch wide.
Assemble the Breadsticks
Spoon a small amount of the Philly cheesesteak filling onto the center of each strip of dough.
Sprinkle shredded provolone cheese over the filling.
Fold the dough over the filling, pinching the edges tightly to seal and form breadsticks.
Bake the Breadsticks
Place the stuffed breadsticks seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet.
In a small bowl, mix melted butter, minced garlic, and chopped parsley. Brush the mixture over the breadsticks.
Sprinkle grated Parmesan cheese on top.
Bake for 15-18 minutes, or until the breadsticks are golden brown and cooked through.
Serve and Enjoy
Remove from the oven and let the breadsticks cool slightly.
Serve warm with marinara or cheese sauce for dipping.
Tips for Success
Steak alternative: Use deli roast beef or cooked ground beef if you prefer a quicker option.
Cheese variety: Swap provolone for mozzarella or cheddar if desired.
