Step-by-Step Guide
1. Measure Your Raised Bed
Measure the length, width, and height to determine the hoophouse size.
2. Create the Frame
Cut wooden boards to make a rectangular frame matching your raised bed dimensions.
Secure corners with screws.
3. Build the Hoops
Cut PVC pipes into lengths to form arches over the raised bed.
Attach them to the frame using T-connectors.
4. Secure the Hoops
Use elbows to connect the tops of the hoops for stability.
5. Add the Hinged Door
Cut a section for the door on one side of the frame and attach hinges for a swinging door.
6. Attach the Plastic Sheeting
Drape plastic over the structure and staple it to the frame, cutting excess material away.
7. Weight the Base
Use stones, bricks, or rope/bungee cords to secure the base against wind.
8. Ventilation
Create openings or flaps in the plastic for air circulation to prevent overheating.
9. Final Touches
Ensure hinges work smoothly and check for any gaps or loose fittings
