Ingredients
- 2 large lemons
- 3 tablespoons granulated sugar
- ¼ cup hot water (straight from the faucet is fine)
- 1 cup cold water
- Lots of ice!
Instructions
- Wash the lemons thoroughly.
- Cut each lemon in half, then cut each half into 4 wedges (you’ll get 8 wedges per lemon).
- In a large cup or plastic container, add the lemon slices and 3 tablespoons of sugar.
- Use a metal measuring cup, muddler, or another sturdy tool to mash the lemons and release their juice while mixing with the sugar.
- Pour in the ¼ cup of hot water and stir to help dissolve the sugar completely.
- Add 1 cup of cold water and lots of ice. Shake or stir until everything is well combined.
- Taste and adjust sweetness if needed—add more sugar if you like it sweeter or if your lemons are extra tart.
Tips for the Best Lemonade
- Use fresh lemons for the brightest flavor.
- Try Meyer lemons for a naturally sweeter twist.
