Dorito Taco Salad
My mom orders this literally every time we go out to lunch, so when she came over last weekend I surprised her and made it at home. She loved it!
Ingredients:
- 1 large bag Dorito Nacho Cheese Chips, broken into smaller pieces (not crumbs)
- 1 pound lean ground beef
- 1 packet taco seasoning
- 1 red onion, diced
- 2 cups cheddar cheese, shredded
- 1 head lettuce, shredded
- 6 tomatoes, chopped
- ½ cup Italian dressing
- 2 cups ranch dressing
Instructions:
- Cook the Ground Beef: In a skillet, crumble and brown the ground beef. Drain the excess fat once cooked through.
- Season the Meat: Add the taco seasoning packet along with the Italian and ranch dressings. Stir well and simmer until the liquid is absorbed into the beef.
- Prepare the Toppings: Shred the lettuce and place it into a bowl. Chop the tomatoes and place them into a separate bowl. Dice the red onion and place into another bowl. Place the shredded cheddar cheese into its own bowl.
- Assemble the Salad:
- Option 1: Let everyone build their own plate by layering chips, seasoned beef, and toppings of their choice.
- Option 2: Toss everything together in a large bowl for a fully combined salad.
- Serve: Enjoy immediately for the best flavor and crunch!
