Longhorn Steakhouse Parmesan Chicken (Copycat Recipe)
Golden, crispy chicken breasts smothered in marinara and melted mozzarella—better than the restaurant!
Ingredients:
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
- 1/2 tsp dried basil
- 1/2 tsp dried oregano
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 1 cup marinara sauce
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Directions:
- Preheat the oven: Set your oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a baking dish.
- Set up a breading station: Place flour in one dish, beaten eggs in another, and combine Parmesan, panko, and seasonings in a third dish.
- Bread the chicken: Dredge each breast in flour, dip in eggs, then coat with the Parmesan breadcrumb mixture. Press to help the coating stick.
- Sear the chicken: Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Brown chicken 2–3 minutes per side until golden. (Chicken will finish cooking in the oven.)
- Assemble in baking dish: Transfer chicken to the baking dish. Spoon marinara sauce over each piece, then sprinkle with mozzarella.
- Bake: Bake for 20–25 minutes or until chicken is cooked through (internal temp of 165°F / 74°C) and cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Garnish & serve: Top with chopped fresh parsley. Serve hot with pasta, salad, or garlic bread.
Recipe Notes:
- • Swap marinara with Alfredo or spicy arrabbiata for a twist!
- • Use chicken cutlets or pound breasts thin for quicker cooking.
- • Add crushed red pepper to the breadcrumb mix for a kick!
