Grilled Portobello Mushrooms with Balsamic Glaze
A hearty and flavorful vegetarian main course!
Ingredients:
4 large portobello mushroom caps
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 teaspoon dried thyme
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon black pepper
For the Balsamic Glaze:
1/4 cup balsamic vinegar
1 tablespoon honey
1 clove garlic, minced
Instructions:
Prepare the Mushrooms: Brush portobello caps with olive oil, thyme, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
Grill the Mushrooms: Grill the mushrooms over medium-high heat for 4-5 minutes per side, or until tender and slightly charred.
Make the Glaze: In a small saucepan, combine balsamic vinegar and honey. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer until thickened, about 5 minutes. Stir in garlic.
Glaze the Mushrooms: Brush the grilled mushrooms with the balsamic glaze.
Serve: Serve immediately.
Tips:
For a smoky flavor, grill the mushrooms over indirect heat.
Serve with a side of roasted vegetables or a salad.
You can also add a dollop of sour cream or Greek yogurt to the dish.
